New Pocket Wizard.

This is a test shot with a pocket wizard I picked up on ebay. Flash at camera right strapped to a chair (No light stand needed, just use what's in the room). Exposure 1/60 f8. Eyeballed the exposure with on camera display. No time to take a meter reading with this little guy.

Sports Photography with Dave Black

Photos by Dave Black have appeared in Sports Illustrated, Time, Newsweek, ESPN, Parade and The Wall Street Journal. His site includes a journal call "On The Road" detailing his assignments while on the road. The site also contains a workshop called "Workshop at the Ranch" where Dave has a number of excellent examples of Sports Journalism using only Speedlites.

This was shot with two Nikon SB80-dx flash units. One was on her lap and the other on camera. Both we set to 1/64 power, camera at f11.

• Excellent website for photojournalism hosted by David Hobby of the Baltimore Sun in Maryland. His blog, Strobist, has a number of excellent lighting tips using only a speedlight or two and an advocate of getting the flash off the camera.

• Best Business Practices for Photographers, read about this book on the Strobist web blog - David states that it is one of the best books on the business of Photography and is available on Amazon.
